OEM Key
OEM key, or Original Equipment Manufacturer key, is a unique product activation code that is provided by the original manufacturer of software, hardware or equipment. These keys are often used to activate and license software components such as operating systems or applications that are pre-installed on devices like computers, servers, and mobile devices.
OEM keys are typically intended for use with specific hardware configurations and are provided directly by the manufacturer. They may be sold as part of a bundled package with the device itself. These keys differ from retail keys in that they are often tied to a specific piece of hardware and cannot be transferred to another device.
When using an OEM key, it’s important for users to understand any limitations regarding transferability and ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
